Wheaton, MD
Construction recently wrapped up on the Wheaton town center, which has a public square and an outdoor performance space. Also planned are a new library and a recreation center with an adjacent park, and an update to the bike trail network. Wheaton is made up of smaller neighborhoods like Wheaton Crest, Wheaton Hills, Homewood, Glenview, and Downtown Wheaton. The downtown area is bounded by the Georgia Avenue, University Boulevard, and Veirs Mill Road. Kensington and North Kensington are immediately west of Wheaton. The neighborhood's residential architecture is dominated by sprawling ranch homes, townhomes, split-level homes, and Cape Cods.
Restaurants, Retail, and Entertainment
The neighborhood is served by the Westfield Wheaton shopping center, anchored by Costco, Target, and Dick's Sporting Goods. Downtown Wheaton is full of restaurants ranging from Salvadoran to Italian to Vietnamese.

Transportation
Downtown is walkable, and the Wheaton Metro station takes commuters and visitors alike north and south along the Red Line. MetroBus routes run along Veirs Mill Road, University Boulevard, and Georgia Avenue. I-495 borders Wheaton providing easy access to many parts of the DC area.
